Vivo V15 Pro came up with the revolution for the brand. The company took the next step of removing the notch from their phone’s screen by introducing Vivo Nex. To provide the borderline advancement in smartphone experience, Vivo gave in-display fingerprint scanner, motorized pop-up camera, and high-end smartphone’s hardware as well as software but all that with a hefty price of course – talk about Vivo Nex. But soon that was about to change with the introduction of Vivo V15 pro.
This pro model comes with 6GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage, a game-changing 32MP pop-up camera, a well-refined processor, and a superb display. Though there are some downsizing things in this phone like its screen protection, battery, and mediocre design, this device shines in many other specs making it a go-to device if you wanna buy cool specs at a very affordable price.
Vivo S1 Pro Detailed Review and Full Specifications
Design and Display
Vivo V15 Pro looks just like any other mid-range device with a notch-less screen and elegant finish. This phone has a plastic body with a nice and sleek texture on the back. The front of the phone features Vivo’s standard 2.5D glass panel. Since there is an AMOLED display with very narrow and thin bezels only about 1.75mm and the screen to body ratio is fantastic 91.64%.
The phone comes with two cool color variants – Ruby Red and Topaz Blue. The back panel of Topaz Blue holds an electric blue diagonal streak in the middle that gradually fades into a deeper shade of blue to the corners of the phone, micro-dot patterns in the center that flows like a wave-like pattern near the edges- Vivo calls it “Spectrum Ripple Design”. Another color variant is- The Ruby Red finish. It has a red gradient with a cross-hatch pattern across the back.
This phone is very thin measuring 157.3 x 74.7 x 8.2 mm (6.19 x 2.94 x 0.32 in). It’s quite comfortable to hold this device as it is lightweight with just about 185 grams.
We must accept the fact that not every piece of the latest technology is added to Vivo V15 Pro and the features are downsized with the affordable price tag. There is no extra protection in this device. The front panel does not contain scratch or smudge-proof coating. To protect the back, you have to put on the cover (that comes with the packaging), and to protect the front panel, you might have to put on tempered glass.
The Vivo V15 Pro features a 6.29 inches Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and a 19.5:9 ratio screen to body ratio. The display is vibrant and the viewing angles are great, but you can notice a slight shift in color while using it in the broad day-light.
The display provides users a fantastic viewing experience. The narrow bezel and notch-less display gives enough space to fit many contents, cinematic video experience, disturbance less gaming, and immersive feeling while reading text, news or scrolling social media feed. Everything that is aforementioned makes this a perfect display for students, work personal, or simply for normal users.
The Vivo V15 Pro holds a triple camera setup as its rear camera which constitutes a 48MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture lens, an 8MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture lens, and a 5MP depth camera with an f/2.4 aperture lens. The camera app features many features such as Night Mode, Live Photos, and Portrait Mode to name a few.
The camera shows its charm in the daylight shooting. The pictures are sharp, with plenty of colors and awesome details. The wide-angle camera works fine, providing a 120-degree field view, which means you can fit more people inside of your frame. The ultra-wide-angle camera also provides images with enough details. Though you may see some distortion on the corners that is also barely noticeable.
The portrait mode shoots fantastic photos with more refined edge detection which means that AI won’t struggle a bit to detect a person or an object. The Night Mode is just another cool thing this camera can dominate. The night mode now captures images with plenty of details and natural colors and decent sharpness.
The video camera in this device does a satisfying job. The rear camera shoots 4K video at 30fps, 1080p at 30/60fps, and 720p recording at 30fps. The video camera features slow-motion and time-lapse. In the video, the details are nice and the sharpness is above average too. You might see some flicker while shooting slow-motion indoors, but when taking that to daylight, the results are just great.
The main limelight in Vivo V15 Pro is the pop-up selfie camera. Before moving to the details, let’s appreciate Vivo’s for presenting the first-ever pop-up front camera to us. There’s no doubt that this is the main attraction feature for this phone (Leaving Brand promoter Amir Khan aside for now).
There is a 32 MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens. The images with decent sharpness, real color tones, and details are more than enough to boost your social media accounts. But not only this, you get many awesome features in the camera app too- like portrait, beautify, etc. The portrait is refined and now works far better with better edge detection. You can also take photos with a beautifying mode to enhance your photos.
Vivo V15 Pro features a Qualcomm SDM 675 Snapdragon 675 (11nm) processor. Though this processor is not as fast and powerful as Snapdragon 710, it is combined with the 6GB RAM and the overall performance is very good. It has Adreno 612 as its graphics processor and Android 9.0 (Pie) based Funtouch 9 as its OS (Vivo’s OS).
The phone simply slays all the day to day tasks, the multi-tasking works great and playing games are just smooth. You won’t feel any struggle while going through the menu, scrolling, playing heavy games, and all. This phone is yet at another level in comparison to many other mid-ranger in terms of performance. Playing heavy games like Call of duty mobile, PUBG, Asphalt, etc. is no big deal, with the introduction of game mode 5.0 the graphics are enhanced and the performance is simply a wow-factor.
Thus, making this phone a better companion to a group of people like students, people with day jobs who like a bit of entertainment after their job, or those who prefer the best performance at a mid-range price.
The battery is yet another feature that you’ll love on Vivo V15 Pro. It holds a big 3700 mAh non-removable battery that supports 18W fast charging technology. This is an all-day battery, with a spectacular endurance rating. With average use, the phone’s battery is sufficient enough to go on all day long, that too, leaving enough juice for bedtime use like playing games or watching an episode of your favorite series. With active use also that includes playing games, and long video watching sessions, the battery is still able to see the evening of the day if you start with full charge in the morning.
