Samsung Galaxy A71, the Mid-ranger King, Price in Nepal | Full Review

Samsung Galaxy A71 is the one you can choose if you want a high-end Samsung phone that doesn’t cost much. It significantly costs less than the Samsung S series but has the impression of being the most premium of the A-series. It is embedded with an impressive five-camera setup, a really large cinematic display, and offers long battery life and many other features making it worthy of consideration when you’re looking for a premium phone at the mid-range price. Of course, Samsung has trimmed down some features like water resistance but still, it is successful to offer as many updated features as possible at an affordable price.

This is probably the most under-rated phone due to much attention given to iPhone SE and Pixel 3a. But, when it comes to fantastic display, longer battery life, hardcore processor, and the extra camera on the rear, this phone dominates all those competitors out there. The global version is available with 4G but the upgraded 5G version of this smartphone is available only in the US. Hopefully, the latest version will be available worldwide soon.

Design and Display

Samsung Galaxy A71 is made up of plastic but looks like glass and dazzles when exposed to the light. Featuring smooth edge-edge display with very less bezel all around, a tall Gorilla Glass 3 on the display and a glossy plastic back add a unique touch of personality. It is successful to provide a spectacular viewing experience all thanks to its 6.7 inches Infinity-O Super AMOLED display. It is a flat screen and has a 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution with sharp contrast but real-to-life color on everything you watch.

To feel the display, the users have to pinch-zoom in while watching youtube or Netflix. However, the reading experience is fantastic and more information is visible at a glance while scrolling through social media feeds. There is a hole punched selfie camera, which is small enough to get the attention while watching full screen videos and playing games.

It supports always-on display which is good to alert you about time, calendar, reminder, etc. but fret not as it doesn’t suck up much of the juice from your battery. Also, do notice its weight which is comfortable at 179 grams and also doesn’t look so light or cheap as well.

Chipset

The performance of the Samsung Galaxy A71 is super smooth, responsive, and snappy. It runs on Android 10 with One UI 2.1 and is powered by a Qualcomm SDM730 Snapdragon 730 (8nm), an upper mid-range processor. Browsing through menus, social media feeds, playing games or even multi-tasking feels smooth and offers a completely lag-free experience. The gaming works fine although heavier games require a medium setting. But for other educational, entertainment, and media experiences this phone is a giant.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy A71 has weaponry of cameras making it suitable for photography in every moment like group shots, night time, and low-light conditions. On the rear, four cameras are arranged in an “L-shape” pattern. The main shooter has a 64MP sensor along with 12 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor (123°), 5MP macro camera, and 5MP depth sensor.

The output is of pro-level quality with a good dynamic range and colors are fairly true to life and nothing exaggerated. The ultra-wide-angle sensor captures the whole sight in front of your eyes and the macro camera excels in vividly bringing tiny details to the spotlight in the close-up shots, increasing its visual impact in overall. The depth sensor excellently reduces the background noises and adds vibrance to the focused subject, making the output more professional.

The video recording supports super steady mode, so no need to worry to take video in a shaky situation. A combination of predictive software and ultra-wide camera records high quality videos. The overall camera experience is pretty darn good in A71. The quad-cam in the rear works together to capture videos with 4K at 30fps, 1080p at 30/240fps, and 1080p at 960fps.

The 32MP front camera in Galaxy A71 gives you clear and high-resolution selfies. With selfie focus, the background can be gently blurred to just emphasize your face. The front facing camera can capture video with 1080p at 30fps.

Battery

Samsung Galaxy A71 features a strong and massive 4500mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery and it has 25W fast charging which lets you charge your device instantly. This is an all-day phone. It can last up to 2 days with normal use once fully charged, even with an always-on display, most users should be able to get a day and a half between charges. Even with heavy uses, you can use it comfortably for a whole day without charging.
