POCO M2 Review: Quad Camera, Powerful 5000 mAh Battery & Gaming Chipset
Launched in September 2020, the POCO M2 comes with really awesome specs at a very affordable price. If you love playing games, watching movies on your phone, and willing to buy a phone under Rs. 20000, then this is sure a go-to device for you. With a powerful game-centric chipset combined with 6GB RAM, FHD+ display, massive 5000mAh battery, quad-camera setup, and beautiful design, the POCO M2 is the best device at a very low price. It is claimed to be the best in the price and performance ratio among the competitors like Redmi 9, Realme 7i, and Vivo Y91.
Design and Display
The design of POCO M2 will surely make you feel delighted. Built of plastic, it has lightweight and rounded corners on the back panel give it an attractive look. The phone is covered with a water repellent coating- which means you don’t have to worry about small water splashes damaging the phone.
The front consists of a large 6.53 inches IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and on the top of the screen, there is a teardrop notch that holds an 8MP selfie camera. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The power button and the volume buttons are aligned to the right side of this device making it handy. The back panel features a quad camera and a LED flash. The fingerprint sensor is rear-mounted- just below the cameras. The USB Type-C charging port is placed at the bottom center of the phone. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack to the bottom left and a stereo speaker to the right.
It comes in three stunning colors: Pitch Black, Brick Red, and Slate Blue. Poco M2 measures 163.3 mm x 77 mm x 9.1 mm (HxWxT) and it weighs around 198 grams. Moreover, its evenly spread weight makes it super comfortable to use. The bezels are really thin, although the chin is a bit thick- which is a normal thing in an LCD.
The total aspect ratio of the screen is 19.5:9 with a pixel density of 395. This display is bright with 400 nits, which means you can use the phone even in broad daylight. The POCO M2 features a Quad-camera array that holds a 13MP wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture lens, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture lens, a 5MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture lens, and a 2MP depth camera with f/2.4 aperture lens. The wide camera supports Phase Detection Auto Focus. The front camera is a single 8Mp selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens.
The camera app consists of many features like HDR, Panorama, and so on. The images have good sharpness, good color reproduction, and contain a lot of details. The video recording is quite good. It shoots 1080p video recordings from both the front and the rear camera.
